Programs


OCAN -- The Ohio College Access Network (OCAN) was founded in 1999, by KnowledgeWorks Foundation, in collaboration with the Ohio Board of Regents and Ohio Department of Education. With these partners and the Ohio Business Roundtable, OCAN works to establish college access programs across Ohio.

GEAR UP --A million dollar federal grant will help students in eight Ohio communities prepare to enter and succeed in college. The U.S. Department of Education supports early college awareness activities at both the local and state level through its competitive Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant program.

OACHE -- The Ohio Appalachian Center for Higher Education is a consortium of ten public colleges and universities in the 29 counties of Appalachian Ohio, established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1993 with the mission of increasing the level of educational attainment of residents in this region.


Central Ohio Technical College Student and Teacher

College Tech Prep -- Ohio College Tech Prep engages educators, employers and communities to serve students through a rigorous sequence of education leading to a postsecondary degree and new economy employment.

Articulation & Transfer -- The Ohio Board of Regents maintains staff to support H.B. 95, Ohio legislation that supports the ease of credit transfer from one Ohio institution to another.

TRiO -- OAEOPP (the Ohio Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel) is a community of professionals committed to helping students who want to achieve success in school and in life. We work with TRIO programs, programs that help participants prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education. TRIO programs receive funding from the United States Department of Education.

STARS -- The Student Achievement in Research and Scholarship Program (STARS) is an undergraduate program designed to prepare high acheiving, underrepresented minority students (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American) for graduate school, and ultimately, for a career in the professoriate, preferably at an Ohio college or university.

Emerging Ethnic Engineers -- A University of Cincinnati program that supports the recruitment of African-American, Hispanic/Latino and Native American students to the College of Engineering.

College Access Information Hotline -- Good information is a remedy for the notion that college is out-of-reach for too many Ohioans. Unveiled by the Ohio Board of Regents in May, the College Access Information Hotline (1-877-I-ATTAIN or 1-877-428-8246), offers callers information on preparation for college, admission, articulation and transfer and general facts about enrollment at colleges and universities throughout Ohio.

State Grants & Scholarships (SGS) -- SGS administers a variety of grant and scholarship programs to aid students as they pursue higher education. SGS provides information on grants and scholarships that are funded by the State of Ohio and other sourses of financial aid.

RSC -- Rehabilitation Services Commission serves Ohioans with disabilities.
